How to experience Masopust?
Masopust begins with Fat Thursday—the last Thursday before Masopust Sunday—a day traditionally dedicated to feasting and indulging in delicious food.
On Dancing Sunday, the village would come alive with dance – grand balls were held where, during the Men's Ball, the men took the lead, while at the Women's Ball, the dance floor belonged entirely to the ladies.
Masopust Monday then traditionally belonged to the Men's Ball.
The climax arrived on Masopust Tuesday, when people dressed in masks, folk costumes, and disguises. Processions marched through the village, theatrical sketches were performed, and old local customs came to life, filled with humor and joy.
Ash Wednesday symbolically concluded the Masopust period. It is named after the blessed ash used by the priest to mark the faithful with a cross during the service—ash derived from the branches of the flowering pussy willow. According to tradition, on this day, men, often in humorous disguises, would search for Masopust, peeking into corners and cupboards while collecting treats.

Back in shape after Christmas?
If you want to quickly get back into shape after the holiday season, we offer a whole range of healing treatments, or you can simply take a walk through the sleeping garden, the fruit orchard, or the lavender fields. Walking is a natural remedy—it helps clear your thoughts, as Aristotle and Nietzsche already knew. It is often during a walk that the best ideas are born.
A Holistic Approach to Detoxification and Regeneration
With the arrival of the new year, we focus on a true detox through the holistic path of functional medicine—working with the body, but also the mind and soul.
Most New Year's cleanses focus on weight loss, addiction recovery, and hormonal balance.
Often, it is necessary to address not only the addictions themselves but also their underlying causes—such as high cortisol levels or a deficiency in dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, melatonin, and other key hormones.

January in Lavender Valley
In addition to the permanent exhibition on the history of herbs right here in Lavender Valley, which we enriched in 2024 with walks through the lavender fields, gardens, and cherry orchard, we cordially invite you to sit by our panoramic windows—believe us, even the calm winter scenery can be a profound experience.
You can sit by the tiled stove, get lost in a book on a swing, sip eggnog, mulled wine, or herbal tea—all in Organic quality, free from toxins and chemicals—while gazing at the magical power of the sacred mountain Plešivec, visible from our workshops.
